Visit the Tai’r Bull Inn, a Home from Home…offering warm and welcoming, delicious home cooked food, Real ales, a magnificent log burner – perfect for a cold winters evening…
Our location (at the base of Pen y Fan, the tallest mountain in the Brecon Beacons) has in our opinion, the best view of its peak at any time of the year, whatever the season, the Beacons are a view worth seeing.
We are situated on the main A470 in Libanus, 4 miles south of the market town of Brecon. We are a quiet village, with walks into the mountains easily accessible from the Inn.
The National Park visitors centre is only a mile away with plenty of events (ie star gazing, Libanus is 1 in 5 of the best stargazing spots in the world) as well as other attractions.
Within 20 minutes drive across the Brecon Beacons are the best waterfalls area in Britain, Sgwd y Eira (Waterfall of Snow) being the highlight – you are able to walk behind the falls to admire the cascade of water.
The Ponies on the Brecon Beacons are said to be descended from welsh stock, Welsh ponies have roamed the mountains for more than a thousand years.
Fishing and bird watching is also easily found – In the field opposite us we have regular visits from Red Kite, beautiful to see, and watch the magnificent bird hovering over our building.
There are also many other areas to find beautiful birds with reservoirs, rivers and moorlands a plenty. For fishing, salmon and trout fishing is popular in this area.
